Letters from three of the city’s major industrial operators are questioning the logic of encouraging commercial growth so close to their plants as part of the plan to build a new arena in the city’s northwest.
“We’re not opposed to a new Event Centre,” said Kevin Henderson, the locally based vice-president for Methanex, who penned a letter opposing the inclusion of a larger commercial zone in the area structure plan for the 600-acre park that sits kitty corner to the company’s plant on Box Springs Road.
