Wyo. named most tax-friendly state; N.Y. worst

According to Census data released this week, state and local tax revenue rose in the U.S, for the 13th quarter in a row. With April 15 less than three weeks away, America’s business owners will complete their personal taxes along with the rest of the country. According to the Tax Foundation, a think tank that advocates for lower taxes and a simpler tax code, some states remain much more tax friendly to businesses than others.

Biodome: the answer to downtown redevelopment

Lately if you want to spark any kind of controversy in Fort McMurray all you have to do is bring up two words — “downtown redevelopment.”

That tiny phrase has resulted in two very clear factions emerging that have very little middle ground on which they can build bridges. Each side also has their “facts” which are generally little more than hearsay which supports their argument.

Ohio landlord again accused of spanking

CLEVELAND – An Ohio landlord and businessman charged with assault after police suspected him of spanking a tenant who owed him rent money is now being sued in civil court for a similar accusation by a mentally disabled man.

Mark Neace filed a civil lawsuit in Warren County Common Pleas Courthouse earlier this week claiming Ronald Kronenberger, 53, punished him “with a belt and paddle” on four separate occasions.
