Five new schools and a modernization were announced today by the Alberta government.
New schools will be added in Blackfalds, Cochrane, Davisburg, Lethbridge and Wheatland, along with a major modernization in Three Hills. The projects are the second major capital announcement this week.

A Catholic school for elementary and junior high aged students will be built in Davisburg over the next three years, providing much needed relief for packed schools in Okotoks.
Tuesday morning Alberta Education Minister Jeff Johnson announced the Davisburg school is amongst one of the first to be built under new capital funding for schools across the Province.

The Muskoseepi Park Pavilion will get a makeover this year as it undergoes a series of renovations approved by the City of Grande Prairie on Monday.
Monday, city council agreed to allocate more than $700,000 to the replacement of the pavilion’s exterior columns, windows and a portion of the roof.
