Cochrane continued its growth in 2016 as new homes continue to be built but the drive to build as much as possible as fast as possible was reduced by Council as the community’s concerns over traffic grew. Other areas, mostly located downtown, that have been sitting empty for years are also being filled by new businesses and the Town is looking to purchase and potentially annex some land in the north-west for recreation purposes.
