EDMONTON – Twenty-eight per cent of Alberta Health Services nurses work full time compared with 40.4 per cent provincially and 56 per cent nationally, say provincial health officials.

The imbalance is prompting new efforts by Alberta Health Services to hire more full-time nurses, including new graduates, to ensure Albertans get adequate care.
