Amalgamation of Capital Region possible if infighting doesn’t stop, minister says

EDMONTON – Edmonton and its neighbours have six months to quit their incessant infighting or the province will consider amalgamating some municipalities or redrawing their boundaries, says Doug Griffiths.

“Infighting like this, I don’t know. It’s quite absurd, really,” Griffiths, the provincial minister of municipal affairs, said in an interview Friday, reacting to news of yet another quarrel on the Capital Region Board.
