Canadian economy adds 95,000 jobs in May, blows past forecasts

The Canadian economy churned out 95,000 jobs last month, much more than expected and mostly in full-time positions in the private sector.

The country’s jobless rate fell to 7.1 per cent in May from 7.2 per cent a month earlier, Statistics Canada said Friday.
