Okotoks homeowners are going to have to pay a hefty property tax increase this year.

Town council approved the final property tax bylaw at a special meeting on April 25 and their decision will result in a $189, or 6.68 per cent, increase in taxes on the typical home in town despite last minute attempts minimize the increase.
