Detroit’s future? More cops, firefighters but fewer people

DETROIT — The city’s plan to reinvest $1.4 billion over 10 years as part of its bankruptcy exit strategy will result in 12.5% more police officers on the streets and 17% more firefighters but still fewer people, according to new details of the spending plan made public this week.
