Flood puts a damper on High Country tourism plans

Plans to enhance tourism in Diamond Valley are going to have to wait another year.

The Diamond Valley Chamber of Commerce was preparing to ramp up the hours and services at the Diamond Valley Visitor Information Centre this season, but with the June 20 flood washing out roads and cutting Turner Valley off from nearby communities into July the number of visitors dropped and the plan is being put on hold, said chamber president Sandra Wiebe.
