Australians have always had a love affair with residential property as an investment. But several emails I received this week show that buying an investment property is no guarantee of financial success. The stories were the same: buy an investment property with high hopes, and then watch it fall in value to a point where the loan far exceeds the debt. The question then becomes: “Do we keep it and pray for capital gain, or should we cut our losses and get out now?”
