There is no question that development of the oil sands has led to enormous benefits for the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. As the mayor, I speak for our community when I say we’re grateful for industry’s contributions. With them as partners, we’re incredibly fortunate to be one of the most prosperous communities in the country. We are a community with a high rate of employment, a thriving arts scene, social profit organizations and many sponsored recreation amenities.
