New policy will preserve and protect local heritage

Peace River Town Council has adopted a Municipal Heritage Plan Policy that will allow local property owners to protect and preserve their heritage property.

The policy will allow the Town and Peace River Museum to work together to continue to preserve local history.

“It’s intentionally announcing to the community that the town is committed to preserving our heritage – our built heritage. That’s either in buildings, industrial, personal homes and/or landscapes,” Laura Gloor, museum director and curator, told the Record-Gazette by phone in reaction to the decision.
