New power generation facility would ease local burden

A Calgary-based company, BowMont Capital & Advisory, held an open house in Peace River last week for a proposed power generation facility, which would be located 26 kilometres north-east of the town.

The project, which would be known as the Whitetail Peaking Station, includes a two-kilometre gas pipeline that would provide natural gas from TransCanada’s NGTL system to fuel the station and four natural gas powered turbines (made by General Electric).
