As grant funding has been provided to Rocky View County by Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development (ESRD) for the installation of water level management infrastructure at Cochrane Lake, council has unanimously agreed to forgo the Local Improvement Plan approved on Jun. 10, which involved a Local Improvement Tax on those owning land around the lake to pay for a water management system to rectify flooding problems and build a trail system.
