CALGARY — Alberta is tied with Newfoundland for the best annual growth rate in auto sales year-to-date, according to a report by DesRosiers Automotive Consultants Inc.
The research company said sales until the end of March were 54,897 units in Alberta, up 4.1 per cent from the same period a year ago.

CALGARY — Alberta outpaced the rest of the country in auto sales in February, according to a report by DesRosiers Automotive Consultants Inc.
The report said sales in the province reached 17,128 units during the month, which was up 7.5 per cent from last year.

Nearly 6,000 Lethbridge-area residents got “new wheels” last year. And this year, local auto dealers are expecting to sell still more.
Sales fell after recession hit in 2008, but industry spokesman Todd Brown says business continued to improve through 2012.
“There’s renewed confidence in Lethbridge,” says Brown, president of the Lethbridge Auto Dealers’ Association. By year’s end, “Most of the dealers finished pretty strong.”
