A closed-door meeting with city planners persuaded city council members to grant the planning department the authority to approve subdivision applications without bringing them to council for final approval.
“Sitting in that meeting, and hearing (city director of planing and development) Clayton (Kittlitz) explaining everything once again, just convinced me that we have to become more of a governing body that sets policy and direction and let administration carry it out,” Mayor Gale Katchur said.
