High River Baptist Church comes down

On Tuesday, demolition work began on the High River Baptist Church. The church will be completely torn down after it sustained more than five feet of water during the June flood, which wreaked havoc inside the building and caused portions of the floor to collapse.

Terwillegar homeless residence dropped by church

New Catholic church would meet needs

Like historic St. Patrick’s, all the city’s eastside Catholic church buildings need significant repairs.

And today none are very suitable for parish ministry, says the Rev. Kevin Tumbach. Sooner or later, they should be replaced by a new, larger sanctuary which meets today’s needs.

Victory Christian Center lands sold in court fire sale

EDMONTON – Victory Christian Center — a church, daycare and K-12 school — will have to vacate its south Edmonton site by end of July, according to a deal approved Friday in the Court of Queen’s Bench.

Historic Calgary home faces wrecking ball

The city and the province are scrambling to save one of Calgary’s oldest heritage homes from the wrecking ball with its church owner rejecting gambling dollars for its preservation.

An application for a permit to demolish McHugh House, owned by the Roman Catholic diocese of Calgary, was filed March 6.
