Problem home in Red Deer shuttered by Alberta safety unit

Authorities have temporarily shuttered a Red Deer home after receiving numerous public complaints about suspected drug activity.

The residence at 51 Ibbotson Close has been ordered closed for 90 days after the Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods (SCAN) unit obtained a court-approved community safety order to shut its doors Tuesday at noon.

Police say they’ve put a dent in gang activity in northeast Edmonton

EDMONTON- Six people face a total of 65 charges related to street-gang violence and drug-trafficking in northeast Edmonton, police said Tuesday.

In a news release, police said the gang — which they did not name — has been active in the Abbottsfield and Beverly neighbourhoods for several years.
