The Alberta government says the German multinational engineering and electronics giant, Siemens, will establish its Canadian energy headquarters in Calgary.
The province says in a release that the headquarters will manage Siemens’ Canadian energy business portfolio, including renewable energy and clean technologies.

EDMONTON – To ensure its relevancy as a freight destination, Edmonton International Airport needed an overhaul of its cargo headquarters and the improved facility has already received rave reviews from industry members.
Cargojet announced Thursday it will be the first tenant at Cargo Village, a 50,000-square foot complex on the south end of the runway. The new development comes with a price tag of over $20 million, but should allow air-freight companies like Cargojet to better service its courier customers.

CALGARY- After considering a number of cities across Canada, WestJet has decided to locate the headquarters of its new regional airline in Calgary.
Wednesday’s announcement means that Encore, the newly named regional airline expected to begin flying in the last half of 2013, will be based in the same city as its parent company. WestJet spokesperson Jennifer Sanford said airports in both Eastern and Western Canada were considered, but in the end, the company chose to remain true to its roots.
