EDMONTON, AB, Apr. 9, 2013/ Troy Media/ – The number of people employed in the Edmonton region was essentially unchanged between February and March 2013, even though Canada and Alberta saw significant job losses. Lower employment in construction, retail and government were offset by healthy gains in manufacturing, health care, information, culture and recreation sectors.

EDMONTON, AB, Jan. 5, 2013/ Troy Media/ – Employment in the Edmonton Census Metropolitan Area (CMA) edged down in December 2012 as job losses in the goods producing sector outweighed gains in services related sectors. Industries related to construction, manufacturing and energy showed lower employment in December, while employment in financial services and retail trade industries were up.

EDMONTON, AB, Dec. 7, 2012/ Troy Media/ – Edmonton’s economic growth in 2012 will closely match Alberta’s as it continues to stay well ahead of other Canadian provinces. I forecast a growth rate for the Edmonton Metropolitan Area of about 4.5 per cent when all the numbers are revealed for 2012 – which puts Alberta’s capital among the top performers.
