A new lab at the University of Alberta is shining bright — like a diamond. The Arctic Resources Geochemistry Laboratory is one of the largest and best equipped labs in the world. Researcher Graham Pearson officially opened the lab Wednesday, with the hopes that it will help further the development for dating diamonds.

Northern Lakes College in Peace River is one step closer to bringing a power engineering steam lab to reality.
The College announced last week (Nov. 8) that Penn West Exploration, a Calgary- based company that is one of the largest oil and natural gas producers in Canada, donated $100,000 towards the construction of a lab – part of the college’s Peace River Regional Power Engineering Project.
