A major expansion at the Family Leisure Centre will move ahead with provincial and federal funding, as it was announced on Friday morning that the Province of Alberta and Ottawa will each contribute $10 million towards the $36-million project.

The funds, provided as part of the Build Canada matching grant, is the culmination of years of lobbying other connected to the city’s plan to build more than $100 million on recreational facilities in the coming years, including a proposed event Centre.
