EDMONTON – A medical marijuana grow operation in a northside neighbourhood is causing a stink with residents wondering how the business wound up in the quiet cul de sac.
The home belongs to one of approximately 110 people in the province licensed by Health Canada to produce marijuana medicinally for others.

The Alberta government is investigating a contractor working in the Edmonton area for allegedly violating the province’s consumer protection laws.
Service Alberta said Monday in a news release it has received complaints that the contractor is soliciting landscaping work as an unlicensed prepaid contractor and has allegedly collected $34,000 from three Edmonton consumers for landscaping services that were not provided.

A Red Deer nightclub forced to shut its doors in November remains closed.
City of Red Deer Inspections and Licensing Department manager Howard Thompson said the Tequila Nightclub hasn’t reopened since it lost its business licence.
