CN Rail cuts ribbon on $200 million logistics park

CALGARY – CN Rail on Tuesday formally unveiled its new $200 million Calgary Logistics Park, a facility the railway says will help cement Calgary’s reputation as a major transportation hub.

Claude Mongeau, president and CEO of the Montreal-based railway, was on hand for the ribbon-cutting at the 1,000-acre site in Conrich, located just east of Calgary in Rocky View County.

Parker: New facility reflects dealership’s vision

Any drive around the Foothills Industrial Park districts in southeast Calgary will give an indication of the number of transportation/logistics operations in this city and the amount of truck traffic it takes to service them.

One of the busiest sections is the area where New West Truck Centres is building a new facility, looking out onto Glenmore Trail at 59th Street S.E. President and owner Greg Stahl says his Calgary staff will move into the 40,000 square feet location on May 10.

How Alberta’s new logistics hubs bring it all together

Not surprisingly, most of Alberta’s transportation infrastructure and shipping activity is centred around Edmonton and Calgary.
