Emphasis on northern physician recruitment has paid off, says Alberta Health Services, with northern Alberta communities reporting significant increases in 2012 over past years.

With a nearly 60% increase over 2011, almost 40 general practitioners and specialists were recruited to rural communities across the wild rose province, with four moving to Fort McMurray, including one family doctor and three new specialists.
