Home values jump in N.E.

As thousands of newcomers are lured to northeast Calgary by new infrastructure and housing, the assessed value of homes in large swaths of the quadrant is also on the rise.

The city reported Thursday the median assessed value of a Calgary home is now $410,000, up from $400,000 in 2012. For condominiums, the median assessed value is $250,000, up from $240,000 last year. Overall, the typical residential property assessment increased three per cent from 2012.
