Restoring Calgary parks could take years
They’re some of the most picturesque areas in the city, but when the Bow and Elbow rivers surged over their banks during the June floods, dozens of Calgary parks and nearly 100 kilometres of pathway were inundated with water, silt, downed trees and other debris. Some pedestrian bridges were washed away, as were stretches of the riverside pathways.

Parks bylaw gets an update
After discussing changes earlier in the spring, Strathcona County council moved forward last week with revisions to the municipality’s Parks Bylaw and approved a naming a park after a former council member.

The City of Grande Prairie has proposed off-leash areas in all areas of the city, but now it’s up to the public to decide how they will look.
About 12 different areas have been earmarked as possible locations, with an emphasis on spreading locations out in each quadrant of the city.

$90M plan aimed to improve Edmonton river valley access
EDMONTON – A $90-million plan to enhance access to the river valley was officially launched Wednesday, with two major projects slated for the Edmonton-area.
Those projects are a footbridge to connect Terwillegar Park and the Centennial Valley Lands and a trolley-type structure to connect Jasper Avenue with lands near the Rossdale community.
