High River town council has approved a new bylaw formalizing the application process for exceptions to the development moratorium on flood fringe lands, while allowing municipal staff to approve development requests on encroached lands.
Council voted unanimously in favour of the bylaw at their Jan. 14 meeting, as they sought to clarify the exception application process until town staff finishes an updated flood mapping master plan for High River.
