Population projected to hit 40,000 by 2041

It’s a long way to the top — but a steady rise is helping the city to climb.

Recently-released projections laid out by Colliers International, based on the 2011 Canadian Census, show the Fort is seeing a consistent rise in population, and there’s no end in sight.

Currently sitting at 20,475, the number of residents in Fort Saskatchewan is expected to increase to 23,178 by 2016. More than 30,000 people will be living in Fort Saskatchewan by 2026, while the 40,000-resident mark is expected to be surpassed by 2041.
