A northern Alberta fraudster who was on parole after being convicted in a $4 million rural mortgage scam is being sent back to prison following a Crown appeal.
James Keith Steinhubl, 49, had his 42-month sentence increased to six years after the Court of Appeal of Alberta substituted convictions on 15 counts of fraud over $5,000 for which he had earlier been acquitted.
