Williams to build propylene plant near its Redwater complex

EDMONTON – Williams Cos., one of the biggest pipeline and energy infrastructure firms in the U.S., plans to invest as much as $900 million on a new propane dehydrogenation (PDH) facility near its existing complex in Redwater, northeast of Edmonton.

The PDH facility, expected to begin production by the second quarter of 2016, pending regulatory approvals, will be the first such plant in Canada, and Williams’ biggest single investment to date north of the border.
