CALGARY — Calgary experienced the best monthly price growth in Canada for repeat home sales in March, according to a national survey.
The Teranet-National Bank National Composite House Price Index, released Wednesday, said Calgary prices rose 1.3 per cent after three months of decline totalling 2.2 per cent.

Homeowners risk coughing up big bucks if they’re also smokers, according a survey of Ontario real estate agents and brokers.

CALGARY — Calgary’s resale housing market set an all-time average sale price record in February, eclipsing the mark that has stood since the boom in July 2007.
According to the Calgary Real Estate Board, the average MLS sale price for a single-family home during the month was $518,452, up 10.32 per cent from last year while the average price for overall MLS sales in the city was $457,119, up 7.49 per cent year-over-year.

CALGARY — While Canadian home sales dipped in January, particularly in major centres like Toronto and Vancouver, Calgary’s housing market remained strong and posted the best year-over-year growth in the country for MLS transactions.
The Canadian Real Estate Association reported Friday that Calgary MLS sales during the month were 1,572, up 20.2 per cent from January 2012 while sales across the nation dropped by 5.2 per cent to 23,579 transactions.

It’s been a strong start to the year for multi-family resale homes in Calgary, with an increase in sales for both condo apartments and townhomes.
Combined sales of multi-family homes increased to 351 in January, up 15 per cent compared to 305 transactions during the same month last year, says the Calgary Real Estate Board.
