Kensington brick school house saved from wrecker’s ball

A brick schoolhouse that’s been a landmark in Kensington for nearly a century will remain in the hands of Calgary’s Catholic school board, a move that will preserve the building and forestall rumours it will be torn down.

St. John school was shuttered last June when district trustees voted in favour of moving the school’s fine arts program out of the building and to St. Dominic, a school in Dalhousie.
