Spruce Grove city council signs off on telecommunications tower

Spruce Grove city council approved leasing land in Aspenglen Park for a 30 metre telecommunications tower on July 15, 2013.

After considering feedback from residents in the area during a recent public hearing on the issue, administration ultimately decided to place the tower in the southeast corner of the park as opposed to the original proposed site that placed the tower in the middle of the park.

Edmonton International Airport unveils new tower

EDMONTON – There’s a vague resemblance between a space-age food processor and Edmonton International Airport’s new central tower.

Airport staff showed off the inside of the unconventional-looking tower on Thursday, the new eight-storey digs capped by a new and improved air traffic control room with plenty of bright office space underneath.

Hazeldean cellphone tower proceeds despite protests

Some Hazeldean residents are accusing Edmonton’s Good Samaritan Society of breaking a promise over a cellphone tower.

“They’re not neccessarily living up to their committments as a pillar in the community or the values they profess to be guided by,” says Jeff Stuart.

Stuart lives across the street from Good Samaritan’s Dr. Gerald Zetter Care Centre at 96th Street and 71st Avenue.
