City updating transport plan

The city held the first round of open houses regarding the updates of the City Plan (CP) and Master Transportation Plan (MTP) late February, with a positive turnout.

The revamped CP will set out policies for developing Airdrie in the future and will align with the AirdrieONE Sustainability Plan, which was approved last spring and is the visionary development document.

Councillor launches blog to keep residents informed

In an effort to engage residents, Town of Cochrane councillor Tara McFadden has taken to the web with the creation of her e-newsletter, aptly named Tara’s Council Updates.

“One of the things I believe in when you’re working in government is that better decisions are made when you have better communication with the community,” said McFadden. “Through the updates, I can share highlights of what’s going on and what’s being discussed in council.”

Update on Park infrastructure projects given

Infrastructure projects throughout the province have been designated as one of the reasons Alberta is facing a budget deficit, but Strathcona County seems to be reaping the benefits.

At the most recent Sherwood Parkand District Chamber of Commerce luncheon, Strathcona-Sherwood Park MLA Dave Quest gave an update on various local builds, starting with the Strathcona Community Hospital.
