Morinville finds its heart
New businesses will have to be at least two storeys tall to have a place in parts of downtown Morinville, according to the town’s new downtown plan, and some residents fear that could drive investors away.
Town council was unanimous last week in its approval of the Coeur de Morinville area structure plan and its associated land use bylaw amendments. The changes are meant to promote business investment and guide the development of Morinville’s downtown core over the next 20 years.

Town adopts new vision for future
A new image will soon appear on signboards, vehicles and mail reflecting big changes in Turner Valley.
Turner Valley town council approved a new brand for the Town at its April 15 meeting focusing on a commitment to environmental stewardship, promoting its proximity to the Kananaskis and embracing the culture in the area.

Town looks to residents for vision
The Town of Cochrane is taking a ‘collective’ approach when it comes to how the look and feel of the downtown core will mature going into the future.
Setting up shop until the end of February, town staff are hoping residents pay a visit to their temporary downtown location to provide their input into what they want to see developed in and around the Quarry site, and how that will be integrated into historic downtown.
