The Shaftesbury Water Treatment Plant was open to the public and dignitaries Friday afternoon (Sept. 27) for its grand opening celebration.
The $22 million facility is funded through the provincial Water For Life Program ($16,804,616), the Town of Peace River (4,950,496) and the federal Gas Tax Fund (747,079). The County of Northern Lights and the town applied for the provincial and federal funds together.
