Last month, one evening, R Dayalan got a call from his son, saying that about 20 people had barged into their rented apartment in Saligramam and had started shifting everything in the house. His wife had gone out and he was in his office in Ennore, where he runs a gas agency. Without knowing what was happening at his place, he called a couple of his friends and asked them to rush to his house. Upon reaching there, they realised that nearly two dozen people have been carrying out an eviction order issued by a city court. Apparently Dayalan was cheated by a person, who pretending to be the landlord let out a two-bedroom apartment to him, in one of the posh areas in the city.
