In an announcement that wasn’t expected until some time in 2017, formal confirmation of the upgrading of the Yellowhead to a full free-flow freeway will be made Friday morning in west Edmonton. An agenda item on Tuesday’s council meeting was slated to be postponed until the new year, but now multiple sources confirm the announcement will be made at All Weather Windows, involving both Amarjeet Sohi and Brian Mason.
