For years, students were dually burdened by unaffordable education and high rents due to low housing supply. We would have loved rental options that would better fit our needs but instead had to compete over limited, less-desirable spaces that were available. Many of us lived in ratty, old apartments and dingy basement suites. Many others faced long commutes and time wasted waiting for a bus or a train.
