The Alberta government has asked the RMWB to consider hosting the biannual Alberta Summer Games in 2026. If Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo hosts the games, about 2,000 to 2,500 coaches, chaperones, officials and athletes between the ages of 11 and 16 are expected to compete in 10 to 14 sports.
