The council for the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) has passed a 2025 budget of $645.6 million, a $34.2 increase from the 2024 budget. Throughout two days of budget meetings, the municipality’s chief financial officer warned councillors the RMWB has too many capital projects amidst shrinking tax revenues.
