Public sector projects drove growth in the value of building permits in October 2015. Construction on the new St. Joseph’s High School, scheduled to open in September 2017, has begun in the city’s northeast, with an estimated value of $30 million. In addition, The City of Red Deer issued a building permit for a new, 122 unit assisted living facility, worth an estimated $21 million.
