CALGARY — Auto sales in Alberta bucked a national trend in January.

While sales fell across Canada during the month compared with last year, in Alberta they showed a 4.1 per cent year-over-year hike, according to the latest report by DesRosiers Automotive Consultants Inc.

Sales reached 16,224 units in Alberta during the month.
