CALGARY — Average weekly earnings of non-farm payroll employees in Alberta were the highest of any province in the country in January, according to Statistics Canada.

The federal agency reported Wednesday that earnings in the province reached $1,090.33. That was down 0.4 per cent from December. However, it was up 3.6 per cent on a year-over-year basis.
