Alderman pulls city planner into row over suburban development

CALGARY — In leaping to the defence of a home builders group sidelined by Mayor Naheed Nenshi for speaking out, an alderman is taking aim at the city’s top planner.

Ald. Diane Colley-Urquhart says Nenshi has the wrong end of the stick by punishing the Canadian Home Builders Association’s local chapter for comments its president made regarding a “suburban development freeze.”
