The new CEO of Methanex announced the possibility of a major expansion of the city’s methanol plant during his visit to Medicine Hat Friday.

“Certainly, Medicine Hat is one of the locations that we’re considering to build a million tonnes of additional capacity,” said CEO John Floren.

“We hope to be at a decision point at this time next year.”
