Chinese visitors craving remnants of the rawhide West are igniting a resurgence in Calgary’s tourism fortunes, says the local industry.

The explosion of arrivals from the Peoples’ Republic epitomizes Calgary’s position as Canadian leader in visitor spending growth for the second straight year — and a share of the increase in overnight hotel stays with Edmonton, said Randy Williams, president of Tourism Calgary.
