Housing demand in a town west of Calgary is on the rise.
New home construction of all kinds in Cochrane was up 31 per cent last year over its 2011 activity, says Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp.
The town finished the year with 478 housing starts after only reaching 365 starts in 2011. This upturn was led by an increase in shovels in the ground for single-family homes.
